DonEulogy for Aunt AnnaTue Feb 9, 2010 2:39pm188.8.131.52
Marilyn Martinez, oldest daughter of Aunt Julia and Uncle Reggie, gave a very beautiful and moving eulogy at the funeral of Aunt Anna on Monday, February 8, 2010. You can read Marilyn's touching (and right-on) eulogy down below.
I am also posting some pictures of Aunt Anna and Uncle Sidor and other members of Aunt Anna's family that Aunt Anna's daughter, Rita, would like to share with the Marquez family.
Aunt Anna was buried in a mausoleum next to Uncle Sidor (Isidore) in the Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetary, where Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Guy, Aunt Myra, and Uncle Gilbert are also buried.
Because it was a cold and snowy day in Denver on the day of Aunt Anna's funeral, Aunt Anna's children, Billy and Rita, decided not to expose the attending family members to the cold weather and so the family members were not present when Aunt Anna's casket was placed next to Uncle Sidor's casket.
After the funeral Mass was over, all the attending family members attended a reception (or wake) in the Wheatridge Community Center where we all enjoyed eating Aunt Olga's home-made green chili, along with pinto beans, sandwiches, turkey, lasagna, vegetable trays and a large variety of other food and desserts. It was quite an impressive "spread" to honor a very impressive lady.
Uncle Reggie, husband of Aunt Julia Martinez, and Aunt Olga, wife of Uncle Eddie Cordova, are now the last surviving spouses of Grandma's brothers and sisters.
